Schofield Sr. Guarantees Upset: “We’re NOT Losing To Shakur!”
Floyd Schofield Sr. says his son, Floyd Jr., isnāt coming to lose against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on February 22nd in their fight in Riyadh. He says that fans are tripping if they believe Schofield Jr (18-0, 12 KOs). is just coming up for the sake of it.
Boxing fans believe Floyd Jr. and his father are talking about this fight only for money. They donāt think they can win and will be dominated by Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) on DAZN PPV.
The way they pushed for this fight and ignored promoter Oscar De La Hoya, who said Floyd Jr. needs more experience, makes it look like this is just about money. If Schofield Jr. had at least one quality win on his resume, fans would believe that he really wants to win.
āWeāre Coming To Winā
āWeāre not going out there to lose. Yāall bugging. Weāve been against the odds. Iām telling Oscar [De La Hoya] to make the fight, and weāre going against the odds,ā said Floyd Schofield Sr. on social media, talking about his sonās fight against WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson on February 22nd.
āWeāre used to this, fighting with our back against the wall because we got something to fight for. Weāre breaking generational curses. Weāre enjoying it. Weāre going out to bang. I hope you all tune in for the fight.
āWe thank Shakur for the opportunity. Weāre going to continue to be humble because itās time to grow in our lives. I want to be humble and spread love, but at no time are we going to lose a fight mentally on us. Come on now, yāall got to be real for that,ā said Schofield Sr.
It says a lot about Shakur that he selected the 22-year-old Schofield Jr. as his opponent rather than selecting the many more qualified contenders like Andy Cruz, Edwin De Los Santos, Raymond Muratalla, Jose āRayoā Velazquez, or Isaac āPitbullā Cruz. Stevenson doesnāt want to lose before he gets the Gervonta āTankā Davis fight. Selecting Floyd Jr. is Shakurās way of assuring he doesnāt get beaten.
āYou already know who I am by now. Yāall can watch on the Internet. Iām going to be a more humbler version of myself and a more quiet version. The bottom line is weāre going to go out to win. We know weāre the underdog, and we love that,ā said Schofield.
Floyd Sr. must keep talking because heās the only one who is really promoting this fight. Shakur has done nothing on his side to hype up the match, and Schofield Jr. is quiet as well. Heās not a talker.
Upset in Riyadh?
āSo, please donāt lose all your money betting on Shakur. Donāt be mad at me. Donāt come up with some nonsense because you lost your family money betting on Shakur. We got to prove what we say, and weāre going out there to rock,ā said Schofield r.
āThe WBC title is on the line and the new. Iām telling yāall. Keep sleeping. Yāall going to have a nightmare. Go to sleep, Shakur,ā said Floyd Sr.
Schofieldās only shot at winning is by knocking out Shakur because heās not going to win a decision. For that matter, he may not even win any rounds. The way Floyd Jr. struggled against Rene Tellez Giron in his last fight on November 2nd, he doesnāt belong in the same ring as Stevenson.
