Will Fury Resort To Dirty Tactics Against Usyk?
Dillian Whyte is one of the legions of people who want ex-heavyweight champion Tyson Fury to play dirty pool by bending the rules by roughing up WBA, WBC, and WBO champ Oleksandr Usyk in eight days in their rematch at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.
Fans Urge Fury To Cheat Against Usyk
People who want Fury to win are overwhelmingly advising him to cheat against Usyk, which is troubling. If Tyson lacks the talent to defeat Usyk, why would his fans and fellow countrymen want him to bend the rules?
What does that say about their moral code of ethical conduct? The basic problem is that Fury is not good enough to beat Usyk, and itâs NOT going to help by roughing him up. Does Fury really want to be seen as Turki Alalshikh having to resort to roughhouse tactics to beat his former conqueror?
The British journeyman Whyte wants Fury to use the same tactics that worked for him in his victory over former cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham on April 20, 2013. That was a long, long time ago when Fury was 24 years old and much leaner than he is today at 36 and looking closer to 50.
I get the impression that Fury is so desperate to win that he will be utterly ruthless in the ring. Hopefully, the referee is non-partial and will do his job to penalize and disqualify Fury if need be if he goes medieval, treating the fight like itâs a 5th-century Dark Ages battle.
Usyk Wonât Let Fury Bully Him
Physically, the âGypsy Kingâ isnât the spry, mobile, youthful fighter he was 11 years ago when he fought Cunningham and scored a 7th-round knockout by holding & hitting. Usyk isnât going to let Fury use that same approach against him, and there is no chance that the referee will stand by and let that happen. There will be too much of a negative backlash.
âHe needs to be aggressive and try to rough him up. [Fury] must fight him like he fought Deontay Wilder the second time and Steve Cunningham,â said Dillian Whyte to talkSport Boxing, giving his view of how Tyson Fury should fight unified three-belt heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to be successful in their rematch on December 21st.
âWhen Steve Cunningham put him down, Fury got up and got physical and started pushing him and started manhandling him and started roughing him up,â Whyte continued. âHe [Fury] might lose a couple of points, but who cares? Just go in there. He needs to try and rough him up.â
